EMPLOYMENT

Full-time, seasonal, May through October

 Position Details: 

This position is responsible for managing and overseeing the farm’s packshed, produce washing
and processing, and coordinating and processing wholesale orders.

This position works closely with the Farm Owner and Field Crew Leader, and at time oversees 1–
4 other workers, and as such must be an excellent communicator and manager. You will be the primary
person responsible for quality control and accuracy in fulfilling orders. During the height of our season,
much of your time will be spent in and around the packshed, or field-packing in the field, but versatility
is important as we will need you to be able to participate in other areas of the farm as needed. This may
include harvesting, delivering, stocking our farmstand and some customer service. In order to do well in
this position, you must have a strong disposition towards organization and cleanliness, be detail
oriented with an aptitude for record keeping, and be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
while working quickly and efficiently.

Responsibilities can at times be physically demanding, so all candidates must be capable of
lifting heavy and awkward items, capable of performing repetitive tasks with a positive attitude and
physical stamina, and able to work for long durations even in inclement weather

 

Responsibilities:

● Produce washing and packing
● Packshed cleaning and organizing
● Supervision of 1 – 4 employees at various times
● Walk-in cooler maintenance and organization
● Record keeping
● Farmstand assistance as needed
● General farm labor as needed, including harvesting, transplanting, hand-weeding, and irrigation

Qualifications:
● Prior experience that is applicable to this position (farming/produce) is desired but not a must
● Attention to detail
● Punctuality and strong time management skills
● Positive and energetic disposition with strong interpersonal skills
● Strong back with the ability to lift heavy and awkward objects
● Ability to work well in both a team setting and independently
● Fast learner and ability to adapt to new positions and working with new people
● Ability to take direction, accept constructive feedback and to ask for help when needed
● Ability to work for long durations in inclement weather
● Ability to perform and endure repetitive physical work

Working Hours:  

32 - 40 hours/week, beginning in May and lasting through October

 Compensation:  

This position is hourly with benefits including free produce from the farm and a discount to our farmstand. Wage is commensurate with experience.
